GBV an embarrassment to our nation: King MisuZulu
Updated | By Sandile Bhengu
AmaZulu King MisuZulu kaZwelithini has outlined plans to step up the fight against gender-based violence and femicide.

He's been speaking at the annual Reed Dance ceremony, which drew some 10 000 maidens to KwaNongoma on Saturday.
During his address, King MisuZulu said that he and Queen Ntokozo Mayisela are working together - in a bid to end the scourge of gender-based violence.
"Violence against women and children is an embarrassment to our nation," he said.
It’s an issue that's very close to their hearts, and they're hopeful the action they’re taking will turn the tide on violence against women and children in the country.
The King said they will be launching an app called IRIS which is still being developed and will be able to send help to victims.
King Misuzulu added there are also plans to teach young boys to respect and protect women.
"A woman is to be respected and protected. We must do better as men."
