Gauteng police commissioner Elias Mawela says he's satisfied with the progress made in the investigation into the gas tanker truck explosion in Boksburg.
The Department of Transport and Department of Health, as well as City of Ekurhuleni, have also been included to fast-track the probe.
The death toll from the blast now stands at 34 with many others still recovering in hospital.
Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says an investigation team has been put together.
"The team, that comprises of SAPS’s seasoned officers from detectives, legal services, forensic services, led by the deputy provincial commissioner of crime detection, Major General Mbuso Khumalo, has formulated a prosecutorial guided investigation plan which is currently being implemented.”

Charges against the driver of the truck were dropped earlier this week due to a lack of evidence.
