Gas pipeline bursts into flames in Alberton

Residents in Alberton have had to evacuate their homes after a gas pipeline caught fire.

Various emergency crews were called to the scene in Verwoerdpark after reports of an explosion on Tuesday morning.
Ekuruleni Fire and Rescue services are still battling the flames.
Columns of black smoke can be seen billowing from the pipeline.
The City of Ekurhuleni has tweeted that technicians are on-site and have shut down the line in both directions.
No injuries have been reported.
