Several shopping centres have been gutted and major routes completely barricaded during Monday's unrest in KwaZulu-Natal.
The violence, which has spilled over to Gauteng, was initially sparked by the jailing of former president Jacob Zuma for contempt.
The unrest began on Friday in KZN.
In Durban, the Ridge Mall in Shallcross, Values Centre in Springfield Park were looted on Monday morning by protesters.
The Brookside Mall in Pietermaritzburg was also a casuality.
Popular travel routes like the N2, N3, M7 Edwin Swales, New England Road were affected, to name a few.
