Some motorists whose driver's licences have expired or are about to be invalid in the next four days can breathe another sigh of relief.
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula briefed the media on Friday morning on transport-related matters.
"All learners' licences and driving licence cards, temporary driving licences and professional driving permits that expired during the period that commenced from 26 March 2020 up to and including 31 August 2021 are deemed to be valid for a further grace period ending on 31 March 2022,” he announced.

Mbalula admitted there are huge backlogs at licensing centres around the country.
He said other problems have also created stumbling blocks for them.
"Corruption of officials, slow speed and unavailability of the eNatis system, faultily live capture units, faulty eye-testing equipment - there are many more challenges."
