Ulterior motive to Gordhan prosecution: FUL
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Freedom Under Law believes there was definitely an ulterior motive for the charges against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and two others.

Freedom Under Law's Johan Kriegler spoke to Jacaranda FM's Complimentary Breakfast this morning.
He was reacting to yesterday's announcement by the National Director of Public Prosecutions, Shaun Abrahams, that the charges were being dropped.
Kriegler says Gordhan can now pursue a case of malicious prosecution against the National Prosecuting Authority.
"I do believe there was an objective to smear the Minister of Finance's name and to get rid of him. Where that poison was emanating from, I cannot say," Kriegler told Jacaranda FM.

Kriegler added that Shaun Abrahams is in a very difficult position and that he should have used yesterday's press briefing to attempt to redeem himself.
"Abrahams should have apologised for the ghastly mistake, but he didn't," Kriegler said.
