Frustration as N2 traffic comes to standstill
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Hundreds of motorists have been left frustrated this morning after a section of the N2 north was closed to traffic as a result of a diesel spillage.
Police have cordoned off the highway at the M7 Queensburgh off-ramp.
Vehicles have been diverted at the off-ramp and back onto the N2. Traffic has stretched back past Higginson Highway following last night's spill.
Motorists travelling from the south, that is coming from Montclair, Chatsworth and Umlazi towards Durban, were left frustrated after being stuck in the traffic jam for over two hours.
The KwaZulu-natal Road Traffic Inspectorate says mop up operations should be completed within the next hour or two.
Spokesperson, Zinhle Mngomezulu says clean-up crews are still working in the area.
