Four puppies rescued after home partially collapses

Emergency services have responded to a home on the Bluff, south of Durban after a balcony there collapsed.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says Police Search and Rescue officers combed through the rubble on the property.
"There was a lot of rubble that had fallen - it had quite an effect. The house was stable with search and rescue on scene," he says.

One person had been at the home at the time of the collapse but was not injured. Jamieson says several German Shepard puppies had been on the balcony at the time.
"On arrival, only four puppies were found amongst the rubble. The puppies were rescued and are perfectly fine - with no injuries sustained. No person has sustained injuries," he says.
