Four Nquthu family members killed in brazen attack

An Nquthu family is reeling after a brazen attack that
left four people dead and another seriously hurt in northern KwaZulu-Natal at
the weekend.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the attackers
first targeted three men on the road, shooting them dead on Saturday night.

They then drove to the homestead where those men were from and shot two more people - a 21-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman.
“It is alleged that the victims had been driving their bakkie to the Nquthu area. While they were driving, they were approached by the suspects who shot and killed them. Their bodies were found near the road,” said Zwane.
“The suspects then drove back to the victims’ homestead where they allegedly shot two more people. The 21-year-old man died later in hospital.”
The woman who was injured is still recovering in
hospital.

Police say the motive for the attack is unknown at this stage. Officers are appealing for information that might help detectives track down the culprits.
