Four men wanted for rape, murder on south coast
A manhunt is on for four men who shot and killed a man and gang-raped his friend on the south coast this morning.
The KZN police's Thembeka Mbhele says the 51-year-old man went outside to investigate after his car alarm went off at around 1am at his Bingimbiza home.
"He was confronted by a group of males who opened fire - fatally wounding him. At the time, he was with a female companion. Then the suspect went inside the house - demanding the car keys. They then entered the house and took turns raping her," she says.
Mbhele says the gang fled the scene without taking the car.
"We appeal to any witnesses who witnessed the incident or who has information in this regard to please contact the Hibberdene police station," she says.
