Four killed in KZN road accidents

It's been a busy weekend for emergency services across the province.

At least four people were killed on KwaZulu-Natal's roads in various crashes last night.
Two people were killed in Compensation near Ballito on the north coast when a truck and a car collided on the R102.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says the driver and passenger of the car died on scene.
''Upon arrival, our rescue teams found that both the passenger and the driver had succumbed to their injuries and were declared dead by advanced life support paramedics.
''The KwaDukuza Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to extricate both victims from the vehicle. The driver of the truck sustained no injuries,'' he said.
Meanwhile, a man was killed in a separate accident on the N3 in Pietermaritzburg last night.
ER24 says two adults and a 2-month-old baby were hurt when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a signboard in New Market Road.
In a third incident south of Durban emergency services say a man in his 30s died after the vehicle he was travelling in rolled several times on the N2 near the M37 in Amanzimtoti.
Netcare911 says the motorist died before medics reached the scene.
