Four African radio stations are broadcasting live from KwaZulu-Natal to their audiences back home. The shows form part of East Coast Radio's annual Connecting Africa initiative - showcasing the province as a premier trade, investment and tourist destination.
Connecting Africa is an East Coast Radio partnership with Tourism KZN and Trade and Investment KZN. The 2018 programme got underway on the 19th of July and wraps up on Wednesday.
Teams from the four radio stations, from four different countries, first toured KwaZulu-Natal - experiencing some of the best attractions the province has to offer - from the Mayibuye Big 5 Game Reserve to the Mandela Capture Site Tour and Karkloof Canopy Tours.
Visits to a number of successful businesses in the region have also been on the itinerary.
They are now broadcasting live to their respective audiences from East Coast Radio House in Umhlanga, north of Durban.
Guest radio stations include: Yarona FM from Botswana, Hitz FM from Ghana, Fresh FM from Namibia and Star FM from Zimbabwe.
East Coast Radio General Manager, Boni Mchunu says the station has been looking forward to hosting the radio stations.
“An exciting itinerary was lined up for our visitors to give them a true taste of the province before sharing their experiences with their listeners. Connecting Africa strategically positions KwaZulu-Natal as a premier investment, trade and tourism destination by harnessing the power of radio,” said Mchunu.
