Former Springbok hooker's father dies after attack at home

The father of former Springbok hooker Lukas van Biljon has died following an attack and robbery at their home in the Free State.

"André van Biljon passed away. The charge of attempted murder will now be changed to murder," says the provincial police's Loraine Earle. 

 

Earle says the new charge will be added when the two suspects appear again in court on Monday.

The suspects were apprehended shortly after the Van Biljon family were attacked on their small holding in Oranjeville. 

 

André was shot, while Lukas was stabbed with a knife. 

 

His children were also tied up. 

 

The police are searching for four more suspects.
