Former Public Protector Mkhwebane sworn in as MP

Former Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane was sworn in as a Member of Parliament on Friday.
The ceremony came a day after the National Assembly approved the appointment of her former deputy, Kholeka Gcaleka, as the next Public Protector.

The impeached public protector earlier this week announced that she had joined the EFF.
Parliament tweeted a few minutes ago, showing Mkhwebane with her hand raised as she was being sworn in.
She was clad in the party's obligatory red work uniform, complete with the apron and doek.
