Former Premier publicly backs Zuma
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Former North West Premier - Supra Mahumapelo says no matter what happens they will always support former President Jacob Zuma.
Mahumapelo made the remarks outside the Durban High Court where Zuma appeared on charges of fraud and corruption - among other things yesterday. Zuma is facing 16 charges in connection with the controversial arms deal.
He says it is wrong to say Zuma is guilty when court processes have not concluded.
"Any person who says 'stay away from Zuma' needs a mental examination", Mahumapelo said.
"You, the masses, are the first line of defence for the revolution. Anyone who wants to attack the revolution and do away with leaders of the revolution - that person attacks you the masses", he said.
The case against Zuma has been adjourned until the 27th of July and has been moved to the Maritzburg High Court.
