The KwaZulu-Natal Hawk's Criminal Assets Recovery Account has confirmed a Newcastle farm that was used as a drug lab has been sold.

The Tigerkloof property was sold at auction for over R1 million this week.
It was seized two years ago.
Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says evidence found at the farm suggested that the property was used as a clandestine laboratory.

"In 2019, Hawks members from Newcastle Serious Organised Crime Investigation received information about a farm that was used as a clandestine laboratory at Ingogo area in Newcastle. An operation conducted and evidence was collected. It was concluded that the farm was used as a clandestine laboratory.
"The matter was referred to the Hawks members from Asset Forfeiture Investigation, who worked together with the National Prosecuting Authority in securing a final forfeiture order. Hence, the farm was finally auctioned."
