Former KZN Agriculture boss, acting judge face fraud charges
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN Hawks have nabbed a former Agricultural Department HOD as well as an acting judge on fraud and corruption charges.
In a statement, officials say the 63-year-old former Head Of Department and his 62-year-old accomplice also face money laundering charges in regards to a Hilton-based vehicle dealership.
It's alleged the duo made misrepresentations regarding a R1 million payment towards a dealership for a vehicle.

According to the Hawks, the acting judge, who was a service provider to the department at that time, allegedly only paid R300 000 to the dealership, which then saw the vehicle handed over to the HOD, prompting the dealership to open a case of fraud, corruption and money laundering.
The two were arrested on Tuesday morning and were to appear before the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court today.
