Former City of Johannesburg project manager Sipho Machuene Dikhoba has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment for stealing over one-million-rand in diesel.

The Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court suspended five years of the sentence, contingent on Dikhoba’s pension fund repaying over R500 000.
Dikhoba pleaded guilty to 224 counts of theft, cooperating with the State.
The NPA emphasised its commitment to combating corruption, particularly among public officials in positions of trust.

"Further investigation revealed multiple daily diesel purchases and found that the intended generators were non-functional. When confronted with evidence of his involvement in these fraudulent, the 50-year-old resigned as the Project Manager at the City of Johannesburg."
