The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has confirmed that a former eThekwini ward councillor has been shot and killed.

The party says 50-year-old Bheki Mvubu was gunned down outside his Wyebank home last night.
ANC provincial spokesperson, Nhlakanipho Ntombela, says they understand that Mvubu had attended a meeting in the area.
"He was either coming out of his car or getting into his car when three or four people came with rifles and shot at him. That is the information we have been told so far," Ntombela said.
Mvubu had served as the Ward 19 councillor until November.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Jay Naicker, says a case of murder has been opened.
Naicker says the investigation will be handled by the Political Violence Task Team.
