Foreigners among those killed in Durban Harbour fire

It is understood the six men whose bodies were recovered from a fishing trawler that caught alight in the Durban Harbour yesterday were all foreign nationals.

Six people, who had been reported missing in the fire, were tragically found dead on board the vessel in the early hours of this morning.

Sources have informed Newswatch that the vessel, named 'Tropical', is indeed Mozambican.

Its flag remains up, although quite badly burnt.The deceased were all crew members. One was Portuguese and the other five, Mozambican.
Initial indications are that three of the men died from smoke inhalation, while the others suffered fatal burn wounds.
Authorities are still on scene and are likely to remain there for the rest of the day.
