The SA Weather Service's Aslam Sardiwalla says the cold snap is likely to continue as heavier snowfalls are expected in parts of the province tonight.
"Snowfalls are expected tonight over the southern and central Drakensberg - it could be heavy. It's also expected over the northern Drakensberg, and Van Reenan's Pass. We can expect lighter snow falling in Newcastle," he says.

Sardiwalla says light snowfall is expected over the southern Midlands.
He's urging people be careful when wanting to go out and see the snow.
"Be cautious and check with the local municipality about road closures. It won't be a good idea to drive down to these places just yet even going for a sightseeing trip. Wait until the snow settles before going out to see the snow," he says.
