The recall follows several incidents where Kugas have burst into flames on the country's roads.

The company says 39 incidents were reported to it.
CEO Jeff Nemeth briefed the media in Pretoria earlier. He says the recall is only for specific models.
Nemeth says all affected vehicles - including those already checked as part of a maintenance check - must be taken to a Ford dealer as soon as possible.

The National Consumer Commission of South Africa's Ebrahim Mohamed told reporters the recall is in the best condition of all consumers.
"Consumers have the right to fair value, good quality and safety. This is clearly captured as a fundamental consumer right in this country. It is with this in mind that I say one unfortunate incident is one too many," he said.
Mohamed says the issue has dragged on for far too long - and must be addressed immediately.
