Foetus found dumped outside Verulam
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
KwaZulu-Natal police have opened an inquest docket after a foetus was found in an informal settlement, known as The Sand Pit, outside Verulam, north of Durban.
The police’s Thulani Zwane says a group of children who had been on their way to a communal toilet made the grim discovery yesterday.
"Children who were in the vicinity made the discovery", he said.
"When police arrived they noticed it was in fact a foetus and an inquest case was opened. The body was taken to a mortuary for further investigation", Zwane said.
