Five more arrests for Phoenix murders: Ntshavheni

Five more people have been arrested in connection with unrest and violence related murders in Phoenix, north of Durban.

It brings to 20 the number of suspects taken into custody in the province over the last week.
Acting Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni gave a briefing on Friday following the riots in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
"The total cases of murder in KwaZulu-Natal are 163.
"Inquests in KwaZulu-Natal is Umkhanyakude 1, King Cetshwayo 2, Umzinyathi 3, Amajuba 3, Ugu 4, Harry Gwala 7, Umgungundlovu 15 and eThekwini 52. "

"The total inquest dockets for KwaZulu-Natal are 87 and there is one case of culpable homicide reported in KwaZulu-Natal, when a person was run over by a vehicle."
Ntshaveni said President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the country on Sunday.
She said from next week, the economic cluster will give details of an intervention package following the looting and damage to property.
