Five injured after boat capsizes off Shelly Beach
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
Five people have been rushed to hospital after their boat capsized off Shelly Beach, south of Port Shepstone this morning.
It is believed the injured were holiday makers on a fishing trip.
Belinda Catchpole, from KwaZulu Private Ambulance, says five other people who had been on the boat escaped unharmed.
"There were ten people on the boat. Five sustained injuries ranging from mild to moderate and we have transported them to hospital," she said.

Catchpole suspects rough seas and bad weather could have played a role in the incident:
"We are not exactly sure how the boat capsized. The swells do seem to be quite high at the moment and we've had quite bad weather down here. It's been raining for a couple of days and it is overcast at the moment. The weather might have played a role," she said.
