Five Durban pupils implicated in sex video denied bail
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The Durban Regional Court has denied bail to five schoolboys implicated in a sex video filmed at a high school in Durban.
The video of the incident was widely circulated last week showing four boys, aged between 19 and 21, having sex in a classroom with a 15-year-old girl while another filmed the incident.
The National Prosecuting Authority's Natasha Ramkisson-Kara says the magistrate has adjourned the matter to next month.
"She found the accused did not present compelling enough reasons to be released. The other thing is that the complainant is a minor. The matter was adjourned to March 14 where they will be joined with the other accused in this matter," he said.
Ten other boys who have also been implicated have been released into the custody of their parents or guardians.
