The
first shipment of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccines
safely landed at the OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday night.

Approximately 80 000 doses will be administered to the country’s frontline workers over the next few weeks starting on Wednesday.
The Johnson & Johnson inoculations have replaced the 1.2 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines, which has been found to be ineffective against the variant first identified in South Africa.
