First arrest in northern KZN taxi shooting

It's emerged police have made an arrest in connection with the taxi mass shooting in Colenso at the weekend.
The 35-year-old suspect from Sydenham appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court a short while ago.
A minibus taxi transporting Gauteng taxi operators who'd attended a funeral near Greytown was ambushed on the R74 on Saturday.
Eleven taxi drivers died at the scene - while a twelfth victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital yesterday.
The accused made a brief appearance before the court this afternoon and his case has been adjourned until next week for bail consideration.

Following on from a request from the state, the court's ordered that the man's identity be withheld for the time being as investigations are at a sensitive stage.
According to his charge sheet, he was arrested yesterday.
At the moment - he has only been charged for being in possession of 73 rounds of AK47 ammunition but public prosecutor, Calvin Govender has told the court he's being investigated in connection with Saturday night's bloody massacre.
