Firearm ownership legislation needs tightening - Gun Free SA
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Gun Free South Africa has urged government to tighten gun ownership legislation in the wake of several mass shootings this week.

In KZN, four people were shot and killed and five wounded when a gang of armed suspects stormed a men's hotel in KwaMashu.
In the Eastern Cape, ten people were killed in two shooting incidents near Qunu on Wednesday, while in the Western Cape police are investigating after four bodies were found with gunshot wounds in two shacks on Thursday.
Gun Free SA's Claire Taylor says these type of killings will continue until government moves to limit the number of guns in the street.
She says the Firearms Control Amendment Bill needs to be tabled in Parliament.
"They need to establish a specialised firearms unit to recover and destroy legal and illegal firearms and ammunition and to tighten controls of illegal guns and ammunition to stop the leakage into criminal hands."
