Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
eThekwini Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that gutted a truck tyre rim factory near Sea Cow Lake - north of Durban yesterday.

Firefighters rushed to the scene on Peter Road, where the blaze had already brought down half the factory. Division commander Bheki Hadebe says they suspect the fire started in one of the units used for storage.
He says it took crews almost two hours to contain the blaze.
"The fire has caused a lot of damage in the unit where it started. Everything in there was damaged", he said.
"Also the units next to it were damaged too. There was a lot of structural damage and other contents", Hadebe said.
