Fire guts Bluff warehouse
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Emergency services are working tirelessly to contain a fire that broke out at a container warehouse on the Bluff, south of Durban in the early hours of this morning.
No injuries or fatalities have been recorded at the Bluff Road property so far. The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says they are keeping a close eye on developments.
He is urging motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes until firefighters have completed their work.
"The fire is still active and the Durban Fire Department has multiple units scene. Traffic is affected around the area as firefighters are occupying multiple lanes as they try put out the blaze", he said.
"I would advise motorists to avoid all access to Bluff Road between Edwin Swales and South Coast Road, to allow emergency personnel to do what they need to do", Jamieson said.
