Metro police spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad says traffic is still being redirected.
"The firefighters are busy working on the scene, the building has been evacuated. There is no congestion, the road is closed on Dr. Pixley ka Seme, that's West Street, between OR Tambo and Mahatma Ghandi," he said.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says people from inside the building were evacuated earlier and no injuries have been reported.
An MUT student was one of them.
