#FeesMustFall activist, Bonginkosi Khanyile says he applied to attend an EFF rally in Chatsworth tomorrow because of the common interests he shares with the party.

Khanyile is currently serving three years under house arrest after being convicted of public violence, carrying a dangerous weapon and failing to follow police instructions during the protest action at the Durban University of Technology in 2016.

Khanyile says he was granted permission to attend the rally but he must adhere to certain conditions.
"The normal conditions. I'm not allowed to address people or mobilise. I'm not allowed to engage them or send any propaganda material. I am not allowed to drink any intoxicating substances unless approved by a credible doctor and I'm not allowed to be there before 12pm or after 5pm. So those are the basic conditions I'm subjected to," he says.
