UKZN extends academic year by four weeks

The University of KwaZulu-Natal has resolved to extend its 2016 academic calendar to make up for lost teaching and learning time.
The university says student protests over fees have caused unprecedented disruptions across its campuses, affecting the academic programme.
Management says a task team that was put together to come up with a catch-up programme, has proposed that the 2016 sessional dates be adjusted and the semester be extended.

Lectures, tutorials and seminars will now conclude on the 24th of November - while study week will begin in earnest on the 25th.
The university says the main exams are now scheduled to be written from the 30th of November - with all supplementary exams set for January.
