Fees Commission resumes public hearings today
The commission of inquiry, which is probing the feasibility of free higher education in the country is expected to continue with its work today.
Set two of the public hearings will take place in Pretoria, with a focus on government policy on Post School Education and Training.
The fees commission, was established by President Jacob Zuma, following last year’s #FeesMustFall Protests.
Many student bodies have boycotted the commission saying that it's just a talk shop which won’t provide solutions.
The public was given an opportunity to make submissions to the commission to give insight about their thoughts on the issue.

"At the moment, we are not really so much involved with the current debates on the increments of tuition fees but we are looking at long term solutions that hopefully will assist this country avoid a similar situation," he said.
In August, Vice-Chancellor of the University of KwaZulu-Natal Albert van Jaarsveld made submissions at the public hearings which was held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium Conference Centre in Durban.
He said those who can afford to pay for tuition should pay for their education while those who struggle financially should be assisted by the state or taxpayers
