Father of KZN boy flung out of moving train thankful he's recovering

The father of a seven-year-old boy who fell out of a moving train in Shongweni last week says it's his teaching his children about the basics of first aid that saved his youngest son's life.
Langelihle Mnikathi's school in Shallcross had sent learners back home in the morning due to having no water.
On the train back home, it's understood a group of school children had deliberately kept the doors of the train open while it was in motion.
As it went through a tunnel Langelihle, who was at the doorway, was sucked out of the train - hitting his head against the tunnel concrete and suffering severe head injuries.
The boy managed to take his school tie off and use it to bandage his head wound and reduce the bleeding.
He was only found hours later in the afternoon by off road bikers who then called emergency services.
His father Paul Mnikathi says Langelihle is now recovering at home after being discharged from King Edward Hospital yesterday.
"As parents when you're raising children, even when playing games it's important to teach them lessons that will help them in the future. It's things that we talk about sometimes like what to do when you're injured, when you see a snake and such. Langelihle is very inquisitive.
"I want to thank God because even an adult in a similar situation would get dizzy and not know what to do," he said.
