"I don't want that man to be released - I want him to rot in jail," he said.

Little Sibongakonke Mlanji was kidnapped almost two weeks ago from his home.

He was murdered and left in a bush in Phoenix.

Thembelani Mtengwana, who was arrested in the Eastern Cape, made his first appearance in the Verulam Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The 31-year-old is accused of taking the child by breaking into his home through a window.

Sibongakonke's father, Mxolisi Nodangala, says all he can think about is his baby.

"I saw the man who murdered my child. I saw him because I didn't expect that man to do such a thing. Sometime I would see him on the road - but i know as a person who lives here in Amaoti," he said.
