Fatal shooting on N3 near Pavilion

It has been a busy Thursday afternoon for Durban's emergency services.
Some first responders were at the scene of a fatal shooting on the N3 in Westville.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says police were on the scene.
"At this stage multiple patients are being treated on scene by Ambulances as a result of both the shooting as well as the car accident. One person has been declared deceased by Paramedics as a result of the shooting.
"At this stage the circumstances of this incident as well as who is involved is unknown and will form part of SAPS investigations."
The Durban-bound carriageway has been closed.
At the nearby Quarry Road, fire crews are battling another shack fire.
"Right now we are still busy fighting the fire," says crew member Thabile Zikhali.
It's understood some residents earlier rushed into their dwellings to try and salvage what they can.

"We have managed to contain the fire, no injruies have been mentioned so far by residents. About 150 informal settlements are completely gutted."
Last Friday, a fire broke out at an informal settlement in Clairwood, south of Durban, destroying around 250 dwellings and leaving hundreds of people homeless.
