Farmhouse set alight in eShowe public violence
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
A fresh wave of public unrest has swept through Eshowe in northern KZN.

At least one farmhouse was torched and a vehicle stolen in the small farming town last night.
It's believed to be linked to similar unrest after a security guard allegedly shot dead Siphamandla Xulu in March.
The 30-year-old had been caught fishing at a private dam.

The case is currently before the court but the community is apparently upset with the pace at which proceedings are moving.
"The community members from Umlalazi blockaded the road and at 6.30pm - they set alight the farmhouse and stole the vehicle that was parked in the yard - a white Isuzi double cab.
"The R66 was closed and a case of public violence was opened for investigation," police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala said.
