Mandoza - tribute

The 38-year-old died at around midday yesterday after being rushed to hospital. Diagnosed last year, the cancer had reportedly spread to his brain - causing partial blindness.

President Jacob Zuma has described the 38-year-old as a pioneer of Kwaito and will be missed by all, saying his music appealed to a cross-section of the country's population.

While Danny K - who collaborated with Mduduzi Tshabalala - says the Kwaito star reminded the country that music has the ability to transcend racial and cultural barriers.

He says Mandoza's work is proof that good music can find an audience anywhere in the world.

He was best known for music hits 'Nkalakatha', 'Godoba' and '50/50'.
