Family in shock over Umhlali woman's death
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The loved ones of an elderly woman who was attacked and killed in her north coast home are devastated by her death.

70-year-old Vee Govender and her husband Maduray had returned home after their weekly trip to the market on Wednesday when they were attacked outside their Umhlali farmhouse.
The couple's nephew, Dan Reddy says the three robbers took a shotgun, cash and jewellery before escaping.
Govender died after suffocating on material that had been put over her mouth and nose.
Her husband was hit on the head with the butt of a gun and knocked unconscious. He is receiving treatment in hospital.
"He can recall that maybe one of the guys may have been a former employee of his," he said.

Reddy says his aunt will be laid to rest tomorrow.
"They are such a wonderful family, they were honest. They were humble and liked by the community. You go to their home at any given time and you're always welcome," said Govender.
