40-year-old Anele Hoyana was assaulted and killed, allegedly by 45-year-old Fritz Joubert at the Geluksdal farm in East London on Saturday morning.

It's understood that Hoyana, his wife and their two children were temporarily living on the farm.

Police say that an argument broke out between the two, causing Joubert to attack and bludgeon Hoyana to death while his wife and children were in the home.

Eastern Cape Police spokesperson, Thembinkosi Kinana says when officers arrived on the scene, they found Hoyana's children locked in a bathroom and held hostage.

Kinana says the children a three-month-old and a three-year-old were now with their mother again who was outside the home.

"After the arrival of the police, another argument ensued between the farm owner and the police who also culminated to a shooting that left the farmer fatally wounded."

"We are investigating the circumstances surrounding all the incidents. We have currently registered murder, attempted murder, and an inquest," he said.

Joubert posted a video on his Facebook page that has since gone viral where he referred to himself as 'The chosen one' and to Hoyana as 'Satan.'

In another video, he calls Hoyana's wife to look at what appears to be a body on the floor. The woman yell's out "Anele" before breaking down into tears.

Tributes are pouring in for Honyana since his murder, with many calling for justice.
