Family of the late Inkosi Vela Shembe receiving counselling
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Nazareth Baptist Church says the family of the late Inkosi Vela Shembe is receiving counselling following his sudden death.
Shembe, the church's spiritual leader, died of unknown causes at his Umtwalume home on the south coast on Friday. An autopsy has been conducted to determine the cause of death.
The church's spokesperson Nkululeko Mthethwa says Shembe’s home has been filled with mourners and well-wishers.
He says the family's expected to release information on funeral arrangements this week.
"We are saying to Inkosi , we are receiving counselling. We trust God that he is willing and we try to recover from this but the family is coping and we can only trust God," he says.
