Family, friends remember Suna Venter
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
SABC journalist, Suna Venter has been hailed as someone who fought for media freedom right until her last moments.

Family, friends and colleagues held a memorial for the 32-year-old in Johannesburg yesterday.
Venter formed part of the so-called SABC 8 who challenged editorial decisions at the public broadcaster.
Venter suffered from a heart condition commonly known as Broken Heart Syndrome. Her family believes the harassment she endured over the past year worsened her condition.
Her father, Philip Venter says his daughter was always full of life.
"She was an awesome child who really appreciated every single moment of her life and her personality and her sense of humour and compassion," he says.

Colleague and friend, Thandeka Gqubula says Venter was passionate about press freedom.
"The reason we were seeing so many lawyers at the time and we still are seeing our lawyers is because we want to move a motion for a UN special convoy on the protection of journalists," she said.
