Suna Venter 'a journalist of great courage'

Friends and colleagues have shared messages of condolences on social media following the death of Suna Venter - who was part of the SABC 8 who received the Nat Nakasa Award.
The SABC reporter and senior producer died at the age of 32 yesterday.
Reacting to the news, Deputy Chairperson of the South African National Editor's Forum, Katy Katopodis said Venter will be remembered for being a journalist of great courage.
In a statement, her family says she was recently diagnosed with stress cadriomyopathy - also known as Broken Heart Syndrome.
Her body was discovered in her Fairlands apartment, in Johannesburg.
Venter was part of the so-called SABC 8 who opposed unlawful editorial policies at the public broadcaster. Together with these journalists, her courage and integrity.
She has received numerous death threats and survived a number of attacks over the past year over the matter.
According to the statement, those closest to her believe the events over the past year played a significant role in her condition.
The SABC's Kaizer Kganyago has described Venter as a principled journalist, who stood up for ethical journalism.
