They're busy with funeral preparations to lay 31-year-old Dawny Mhlongo to rest.

Mhlongo from Ntuzuma was found with multiple gunshot wounds to her head and body - a day after going missing.

Her sister, Khombisile, says she was last seen leaving the hair salon where she worked at Unilever in Durban North.

"On Thursday, we gave it a day because we did not know where she could be. On Friday, we really took it seriously and that's when we started sending out a notification of a missing person. We as a family found her on Monday morning at the mortuary. According to the mortuary, she was brought in on Thursday morning."

Mhlongo says they'll focus on investigations after her sister's funeral.

"We are just trying to get the preparations underway for the funeral. We will just take it from there - we are not doing okay to be honest. We just want to do this as quickly as possible and then concentrate on finding out what really happened."

She says the murder has left them with so many questions.

"She was a bubbly person, she was just a jam all around. She was an honest, soulful person and the sweetest person ever. We are struggling to figure out what could have happened because she was not a person who'd get into conflict with people," she said.
