Ezulweni Investments says in 'settlement talks' with ANC

Ezulweni Investments claims to be in settlement talks with the ANC amid its ongoing legal dispute with the governing party over unpaid debts.

Legal representatives for the printing and marketing company released a statement on Tuesday confirming the latest development.
The ANC is yet to confirm the discussions.
The company claims the ANC owes it some R100 million for election banners.
In November, the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled in favour of Ezulweni Investments, which supplied the ANC with campaign material for the 2019 elections.
The party was ordered to pay over R100 million for the election banners.
The company had also applied to have ANC assets seized after the party refused to pay despite a court order.
The company's attorney, Sharfique Sarlie, said he was pleased that the two parties have now begun urgent negotiations.
"As Ezulweni’s attorneys of record in this matter, we are pleased to announce that the parties have commenced urgent, without prejudice, settlement negotiations at the highest level, which they hope will bear fruits and be finalised as soon as possible, regard being had to the constraints imposed by the imminent annual shut-down of the offices of our law firm and the ANC’s attorneys of record, and the festive holidays that are upon us.”
Charlie added that the negotiations are in the best interests of both parties.
"...And in order that these important and final settlement negotiations enjoy the best possible prospects of success, it has further been resolved that neither party will debate the matter in the media or public, including social media forums, until the conclusion of such negotiations," he said
