Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife says it's launched a probe after a man was killed by a buffalo outside Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park.
It's alleged the animal was seen outside the Mashiya gate on Sunday.
Some members of the local community apparently decided to hunt it.
Rangers rushed to the scene after a gun shot was heard and found a group gathered around the body of a man.
He was declared dead at the scene.

"I want to express our profound sadness over the loss of one of our community members," Ezemvelo's Musa Mntambo.
"The incident serves as a stark reminder of the risk associated of living in close proximity to wild life despite our best efforts to ensure safety measures are in place."
