Export summit sees emerging business owners network
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
High logistical costs have been identified as a factor hindering the number of small businesses from maintaining affordability.

This emerged during the Export Summit at the Durban ICC yesterday.
The day saw a number of emerging business owners and leaders come together to network and gain expert advice.
Trade and Investment KZN's Lester Bouah says while infrastructure is of a high quality - it doesn't come cheap.
"Most of those costs are passed on by the freight forwarders to the exporters because they also have to pay the dues at the ports. That cost is passed onto the manufacturer then it gets passed onto the consumer who is going to buy it. So that's why we find that product prices are quite high because you have to deal with those costs and it makes them uncompetitive," he said.
The event wraps up tomorrow.
