Explosion at WC crude-oil refinery claims 2 lives
An investigation is underway into an explosion at a crude-oil refinery in the Western Cape which killed a man and a woman.
The blast at the Astron Oil Refinery in Milnerton happened on Thursday.
A company spokesperson says the fire has since been contained.
"There are several injuries, some of which were reportedly quite serious," says Provincial Local Government Department spokesperson James Brent-Styan.
"The City of Cape Town Fire Rescue Service did respond immediately. The incident is under control. There is no fire or added risk at the moment."
